AFTER-SALES SERVICE POLICIES

These Makeblock After-Sales Policies do not affect your legal rights under the laws and regulations of your country or region.

The terms set out in these policies shall be enforced to the extent permitted by the laws of your country or region.

PART I – LIMITED WARRANTY

How to Obtain Warranty Service

The warranty period starts from the day you receive the product. If the product does not function as warranted during the warranty period, you may obtain after-sales service by emailing service@makeblock.com. You will need to provide valid proof of purchase, receipt, or order number for the warranty service.

After-Sales Service Flow

Makebolck will attempt to diagnose and resolve your problem via e-mail or online chat. If your problem cannot be resolved by the method above, you may be required to deliver the product to the local Makeblock repair center for further examination. Makeblock will arrange for repair or replacement service at no cost if the problem falls under this Limited Warranty.

Note: Once Makeblock or a third-party testing laboratory confirms the problem during the warranty period, Makeblock will provide free repair or replacement of defective parts and bear the one-way logistics cost.

Note: For problems confirmed out of warranty, Makeblock will provide paid maintenance services for the products. Fees may vary based on the specific product and the degree of damage.

Note: For repaired or replaced products, the warranty period is two months from the date of shipment from Makeblock. If the remaining warranty period of the original product exceeds two months, the original warranty period shall apply.

What This Warranty Service Policy Does NOT Cover

This policy does not cover the following:

  • products or parts whose warranty expired;
  • normal discoloration, wear, and tear, and consumption that occur during the use of the product;
  • failure or damage is caused by incorrect or improper use, maintenance, or storage, including improper handling, use of the product not for the reasons intended purpose, improper plugging or unplugging of external devices, drops or improper external crash; contact with or exposure to improper temperatures, solvents, acids, alkalis, water intrusion, etc., an infestation of insects or rodents or intrusion of foreign objects resulting in the breakage, dust, damage of the product or parts (such as housing, components, wiring, etc.);
  • damage caused by the unauthorized assembly, modification, or disassembly, or damage due to failure to follow the official manual or instructions;
  • products or parts whose original identification information has been modified, altered, or removed;
  • products or parts of which you cannot provide a valid receipt or any other documents that can prove the warranty status;
  • failure or damage caused by the use of software that is illegally authorized, non-standard, or not publicly available;
  • failure or damage caused by a virus infection, hacker attacks, or other malicious infringements.
  • failure or damage caused by force majeure or accidents;
  • damage that occurs during its transit back for repair;
  • other failure or damage not caused by the quality of the product;
  • products that can operate uninterruptedly or without errors;

Note: Makeblock shall take no responsibility for the above issues. If you encounter the above problems, please contact the relevant parties for solutions.

PART II – RETURN & REFUND

You can request Return & Refund Service:

1. Within 15 calendar days of receiving a product if the product has not been assembled or used, packaging, accessories, gifts, and instructions are intact, which will not affect secondary sale.

2. Within 7 calendar days of receiving a product if the product has a performance failure that is not artificially caused.

Note:

For credit card purchases, it may take up to 3 billing cycles for the refund amount to appear on your statement.

For returns due to customer reasons, you will be responsible for all return shipping costs; for returns authorized by Makeblock to confirm quality problems, Makeblock will bear all return shipping costs.

Return & Refund Service will not be provided where:

  • The return request is made after more than 15 calendar days from the date of receipt;
  • The returned product is incomplete, the outer packaging, accessories, gifts, or instructions are incomplete, or the appearance is damaged due to artificial reasons;
  • Failure to provide legal proof of purchase or documents when returning goods, or forge or alter documents;
  • Collision and burnout are not caused by quality problems of the product itself, and product quality problems are caused by man-made unauthorized modification, entry of foreign objects (water, oil, sand, etc.), incorrect installation, and failure to use and operate according to the instructions;
  • Labels, machine serial numbers, waterproof marks, anti-counterfeiting marks, etc torn up or altered;
  • Products damaged due to unavoidable factors, such as fire, flood, lightning strike, traffic accident, and other force majeure;
  • The corresponding product has not been sent within 7 calendar days since having Makeblock's return confirmation;

You can request Replacement Service:

1. Within 15 calendar days of receiving a product if the product has been damaged during transportation and can provide the certificate of damage to the goods provided by the transportation company;

2. Within 15 calendar days of receiving a product if the product is found with a performance failure that is not artificially caused.

Note: Makeblock will cover the two-way shipping cost for replacement.

Replacement Service will not be provided where:

  • The product is out of warranty.
  • This product was purchased from a non-Makeblock source.
  • Products returned to Makeblock do not include all original accessories, accessories or packaging, or items damaged by misuse.
  • After all appropriate tests, the product has been found to be free of defects.
  • You have failed to provide valid proof of purchase, order number, or other legal proof.
  • failure or damage due to incorrect or improper use, maintenance, or storage, such as mishandling; not using the product for them, not for its intended purpose; improper plugging and unplugging of external devices; dropping or improper external impact; contact or exposure to inappropriate temperature, solvent, acid, alkali, water intrusion, etc.; insect and rodent infestation or foreign body intrusion resulting in breakage, dust, damage to products or components (such as enclosures, components, wiring, etc.).
  • Malfunction or damage caused by installation, repair, alteration, addition, or removal by an institution or person not authorized by Makeblock.
  • The original identification information of the product or component is modified, altered, or deleted.
  • Damage caused by uncontrollable external events (fire, floods, strong winds, or thunderstorms).
  • The replacement worked fine after testing.
  • Products not sent out to Makeblock within 7 calendar days of Makeblock's confirmation of the replacement request.

PART IV – SPECIAL NOTES

Note1:

The packing of the product, free gifts, consumable parts, and mechanical parts are not applying to this Limited Warranty. If you find any damage upon receiving it, Makeblock will provide you with a free replacement. Please check timely the product after the receipt thereof. Makeblock will charge certain fees if you need to add packaging, or accessories or require refurbishment service.

Note2:

Regarding the warranty issue of products purchased from China, Makeblock will cover the shipping costs occurring in China, and you will need to pay the freight from China customs to your house when Makeblock sends the replaced or repaired products back to you.

Note3:

None of any warranty service made by an authorized distributor is covered by this warranty policy, and Makeblock shall not be held liable.

Note4:

The "Replacement/Warranty Period" is effective from the date you receive the product.

Note5:

In terms of discontinued products or the products which are going to be discontinued, Makeblock will publish relevant announcements and inform authorized distributors to notify customers of the deadline of the Warranty Period. Makeblock and its authorized distributors will terminate the warranty service after the deadline of the Warranty Period.

NOTE: The Limited Warranty does not apply to products that were resold by unauthorized resellers.

PART V – Limitation of Liability

During the period of after-sales service, Makeblock is only responsible for the loss of the product when it is responsible for transportation and repair.

Unless otherwise provided by law, in no event shall Makeblock be liable for personal injury or any incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or any other cause commercial damages or losses arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use Makeblock's products, regardless of theory of liability (contract, tort or otherwise), even if Makeblock has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

PART VI – Relationship of Consumer Law to this Policy

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights that vary by state (or by country or province). Except as permitted by law, Makeblock does not exclude, limit or suspend other rights you may have, including rights that may arise from non-compliance with the sales contract. To fully understand your rights, you should check the laws of your country, province or state.

Policy Restrictions Subject to Consumer Law

To the extent permitted by law, this warranty and stated remedies are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties, remedies, and conditions, oral, written, statutory, express, or implied. To the extent permitted by law, Makeblock disclaims all statutory and implied warranties, including, but not limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose and warranties against hidden or latent defects. To the extent such warranties cannot be denied, Makeblock limits the duration and remedies of such warranties to the duration of this express warranty and, at Makeblock's option, repair or replacement services as described below. Some states (countries and provinces) do not allow limitations on the duration of an implied warranty (or condition), so the above limitations may not apply to you.

Note: Makeblock reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to interpret, modify and amend this warranty policy at any time.
