Equipped with the powerful MegaPi main control board, Ultimate 2.0 makes the implementation of high-order functions a piece of cake. Think: synchronous drive and control of multiple motors and servos, sensor reading, Raspberry Pi communication and connection to high-power encoder motor driver boards. MegaPi has excellent motion control performance and is easily expanded, allowing you to build robots capable of carrying out complex functions like 3D printing, or even more difficult applications. Ultimate 2.0 has a standardized interface compatible with other building bricks, maker platforms, and industry-standard parts, which means you can use it to build quasi-industrial projects.
I believe this is the best money I've ever spent on a toy for my kids. It has tons of educational value when paired with scratch software or mblock apps, sky is the limit. We have added a pixie Cameron to our set up but allows for machine vision. This is out of the really cool Tech piece that relates directly to Mordern robotics. We had already purchased the basic Mbot and wanted more adding the ultimate kid gives you and endless opportunities to create some really cool robots. Some of the designs provided in the kid extremely fun easy to build and have a lots of online support to mod or add additional functionality . The mBlock system relies on real world mechanicals in the streamline the electrical interfaces with their solderless design. All the sensors and modules connect via RJ 24 and it allows for quick seamless in a Gratian of sensors motors in multiple devices. This kit comes with a good center package and two really good motors that lend itself well for a lot of different projects.
Bought this for my son’s science fair project and it was great. The directions included were clear and easy to follow. The packaging kept everything in great shape for shipping. The only disappointing thing is that there are only written instructions for three of the robot designs. The instructions for the other designs are all animated videos at the company web site and were not as easy for him to follow along. It would be great if the company made them available as a downloadable pdf.
